Kandakarnan
The story of Kandakarnan is not merely one of its origins. It is a tale of transformations—from suffering to solace, from agony to alleviation, from a cry to a cure. It's a reminder that even gods are not beyond suffering, and sometimes, the most profound remedies emerge from the depths of unimaginable pain.
The heavenly scales were balanced once again. Vasoorimaala would now bring forth diseases, and Kandakarnan would cure them. In the cultural richness of the earth, the Kandakarnan Theyyam ritual was born. With his long upright headgear and sixteen blazing torches, he became the embodiment of the divine ability to heal, a testament to the power that flows through the cosmic order, even in the darkest moments.
